Mining truck tray manufacturer Duratray approached Robotic Systems to create a bolt on accessory to mining truck trays that would allow mines to capture data about the performance of truck trays surround cycle time, speed control, and delay and low throughput causes.
Background on the technology
Designed to capture data points about the truck’s journey, the Nexus One then collates the data and sends it to a cloud application that can be accessed by users to see data on the truck’s performance. This meant designing a system that could handle multiple sensor points with GPS access, have internet connectivity, long battery life due to shift and uptime requirements, be easily installed, and be able to survive in some of the harshest environments on the planet.
